Timeline of the Philippine Pavilion in the 57th Biennale Arte 2017
Following the triumphant return in 2015 of the Philippines in the Venice Art Biennale, a decision was made by the cooperating agencies to house the Philippine Pavilion in the main exhibition venue of the Biennale Arte so as to expose the exhibition to a wider audience.

During the finissage of Tie A String Around the World, official Philippine representation in the 56th Biennale Arte 2015, then Commissioner of Philippine Pavilion and NCCA Chairman Felipe de Leon Jr. announced that the Philippines will be participating in Biennale Arte 2017.

Prof. de Leon sent a letter on November 24 to Mr. Paolo Baratta, President of Fondazione la Biennale di Venezia expressing the request of the Philippines to participate in the Biennale Arte 2017 and secure a space in the Arsenale for the Philippine Pavilion.

The Philippine Arts in Venice Biennale (PAVB) Coordinating Committee met with Architect Manuela Luca D’Azio, Director of Visual Arts and Architecture Department of la Biennale di Venezia, to discuss the available spaces in Arsenale for the Philippine Pavilion.
